I’ve attended many, many social gatherings in San Francisco, most of them technology related, but some of the most fun are thrown by the Lunch 2.0 folks.
Lunch 2.0 is an informal migration of technology people to various hosting companies world-wide in order to enjoy food, drinks, and conversation. These events tend to be fun and interesting because you find yourself at a strange company, among strangers, and have the opportunity to meet and network with a variety of new people.
Today’s event was hosted by Riviera Partners, a technology talent search firm (read: head hunter/recruiter) that seems to “get it.” They’re very interested in organic networking versus brute force… in other words, they’re not going to telemarket their way into people’s minds.
Many thanks to Casey, Carin, Kelly, and so many others who graciously stuffed me full of hot dogs and beer and hosted the party today.
If you’ve never had a chance to stop by a Lunch 2.0 event, I highly recommend you check one out. Keep up-to-date with Lunch 2.0 events via their website and Facebook group.
Next up, brunch 2.0! :)
i’ll be sure to check them out one of these days. :) sounds like fun!
I love Lunch 2.0 events. I’ve met awesome new people at events attended in the past like Spongecell (R.I.P.), hi5, and Ogilvy PR. Sad to have missed it today but I was telecommuting with a bunch of folks. Hopefully next time I can make it out.
